Cultivation

We at Sorgeva, who have always been concerned about environmental sustainability, are committed to offering our customers only high quality, certified, organic and environmentally friendly products. For this, we have drawn up an agreement with Coprob, the only sugar mill in Italy that produces 100% Italian, organic and certified sugar.

The sugar is extracted right from the leaves of Organic Beet, sown in the first months of the year. Through the process of photosynthesis, they store the sugar in the root. After harvesting, they are cut and extracted, where the beets are cut into webbing, passed through hot water at 70°C, so that the sugar and other substances, such as salts and amino acids contained in the pulp, can dissolve. In the evaporation stage, the water is separated from the sugar, resulting in a thick syrup that is subsequently crystallized. By repeating the process, white sugar is obtained, which, deprived of moisture, is ready to be packaged.
